What Makes Terracotta a Sturdy Building Material?
Terracotta panel is 100% natural, and it is made from natural clay and processed with high-temperature firing work. As a result, the finished terracotta products are strong enough with high breaking strength to avoid being broken under high wind load circumstance. Terracotta products come with excellent performance in physical properties. According to a study launched by Jiangsu University of Technology, terracotta panel has modulus of rupture up to 16-20 MPa. Not only does the terracotta with high modulus of rupture, but also it is a safe material with good earthquake resistance performance than the traditional cladding materials such as stone, glass, and metal. The study also shows that terracotta product has low coefficient of thermal expansion as 2-5x10-6/℃and can have a good thermal shock resistance performance and prove that terracotta with good fire-proof performance. In the simulation seismic test, terracotta product achieved result by surviving the simulated earthquake measuring 10 degrees. Also, terracotta can go without damage even when impacted by wind load up to 10 KPa. There are also test reports on impact resistance, young’s modulus, shear modulus, poisson’s ratio and etc for your reference if needs be. If you are interested in more information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Paneltek-Togen is always ready to provide high-quality products with relevant test reports for further discussion.

Why Terracotta Panel is Impressively Durable
Amongst all materials for exterior cladding system, terracotta panel is undoubtedly the most durable one. The mystery of its durability is hereby unraveled as follow. 1. Non-faded colors. Terracotta panels come with a wide variety of vivid colors, which are non-faded with time going by and will not be affected by UV exposure. 2. Anti-erosion. Unlike other natural materials like wood or stone, whose surface could be easily eroded by natural forces like wind and water, terracotta is made from fired clay that is not biodegradable and immune to weathering and erosion. 3. Anti-freeze & thaw. Freeze or thaw can never disable the system formed by terracotta panels as they remained intact after 100 times freeze-thaw cycle, which makes it possible for them to be used in extremely cold climate. 4. Maintenance free. Maintenance is almost unnecessary. Rainwater alone is enough to clean the terracotta panel. Terracotta panel is with low absorption rate and the façade wall system is with specially designed joint parts, making sure the water will be well drained and preventing the forming of sediment. Furthermore, made of natural clay, which is low in metallic content, terracotta panels will not gather dust with no static electricity generated. 5. Good stability. Terracotta panel is made of natural clay and fired under a certain temperature of over 1000℃. Therefore, it is very stable in density, toughness, and breaking strength and will not be deformed easily by external forces. 6. Good performance against the external forces. Terracotta panel is highly abrasion & bending resistant. Tough enough, it will not be scratched easily either. In thermal shock resistance, terracotta panel also has excellent performance. All these make it strong enough against possible impact from the external forces. 7. System with proper design. The joint part of the façade wall is specially designed without the usage of glue, so there is no need to worry about the occurrence of adhesive failure. Besides, each panel plays an independent role in the system. Even when some of the panels are damaged, they can be easily replaced without breaking the whole system. Facademaster terracotta panel, impressively durable according to the EN14411 test standard, is absolutely a good choice for your grand project!

Six Reasons to Choose Terracotta Curtain Wall
Facade refers to the interface between the object and the external space of the object in direct contact, as well as the way it presents its image and composition. The building façade refers to all the outer protective parts of the building except the roof. Facades are an important expression of architectural personality and architectural style, and a suitable and elegant façade design can shape the character of a building. At the same time, building façades also play an important role in energy saving and link building exterior design with interior design.

The characteristics and application of terracotta cladding
1. Coating Exterior wall coatings include thin exterior wall coatings, composite exterior wall coatings, colored sand exterior wall coatings and thick exterior wall coatings, which are fast in construction, simple in operation and low in investment cost. However, its service life is generally about 5 years, and it is easy to fade, peel, and crack, and the maintenance cost in the later period is relatively large. 2. Wall tiles Wall tiles can be made of ceramic or smoked materials, and are also divided into glazed tiles and unglazed tiles. They are sturdy and durable, and the surface texture is relatively good. However, the construction requirements and difficulty are relatively high, and there is a danger of falling from high altitudes. The later maintenance requires the use of acidic substances, which will cause certain pollution to the environment, and once a problem occurs, the maintenance will be more difficult. 3. Stone Stone includes natural stone and artificial stone, which has good decorative effect and strong compression resistance, but because it may contain certain radioactive elements, it will have an impact on the environment. At the same time, the cost of stone is relatively high, and the overall project cost will be relatively increased. 4. Glass curtain wall The glass curtain wall is widely used, which increases the transparency and aesthetics of the building, and the cost is relatively low. However, it is easy to break, difficult to clean, and the later maintenance cost is high.
Advantages and benefits of terracotta cladding
1. The facade needs to be beautiful For the facade of a building, this is a part that developers attach great importance to, because only if it achieves a certain aesthetics, it can bring good results after the building is completed, so this aspect cannot be ignored. At the same time, for buildings, only the aesthetics of the facade can attract the attention of consumers. 2, the style needs to be diversified During the construction process of the building, when designing its facade, it is also necessary to consider the style. When designing, you can start with the overall style, and you can have a variety of styles, so that the facade of the designed building will have a good effect. At the same time, it can also bring good experience to each part.
Which characteristics of terracotta curtain wall can be applied?
Advantages and disadvantages of metal louver curtain wall advantage: 1) Light weight and high strength. 2) The ventilation effect is good. shortcoming: Poor thermal insulation performance, easy to change color and air leakage
What are the advantages of using terracotta facade panels for exterior walls?
Stone Curtain Wall Advantages and disadvantages of stone curtain wall advantage: 1) Freeze resistance: Stone can resist freezing and thawing without significant damage. 2) Compressive strength: The compressive strength of stone will be different due to factors such as mineral composition, crystal thickness, uniformity of cementitious substances, load area, load effect and cleavage angle. shortcoming 1) Stone is a relatively heavy material, so when it is used as the outer wall of a high-rise building, there will be many serious dangers, and the bidding of stone in the construction industry has not been fully standardized. 2) The fireproof performance of stone curtain wall is very poor, especially in high-rise buildings, fires are generally ignited indoors, and the fire in the building will increase the temperature of the stainless steel plate and metal structure of the hanging slate, soften the steel and lose its strength, and the slate will be damaged. The "rain" of slates falling from the high-rise not only poses danger to pedestrians, but also makes it difficult for firefighting.
