The Voxman Music Building, University of Iowa
The Voxman Music Building celebrates musical performance at every turn, embracing a collaborative and exploratory student-driven model of education that treats every space as performance space. The building shares this sense of musical discovery with the community through a transparent expression. The white terracotta panels with different texture in size 150*1500*30mm make the building look very elegant. And the hard to produced twisted terracotta baguette as grille enriched the spatial level of the building.
The biggest production difficulty of this project is the twisted baguette, how to control its size deviation, the deviation of the twisted angle, and the presentation effect of the glaze on the twisted surface. After continuous testing, summary and adjustment, finally successfully completed the twisted baguette, and won the praise and satisfaction of customers.
